Kids go crazy for this shit man...everyone was dancing, there were folks stage diving and crowdsurfing, and to be damn honest it was way more out of control than any punk or hardcore show i have been to in a long while.

Yesterday i was in New York for the first day of the Fools Gold Tour, this also coinsided with the first real day of CMJ. I haven't been to CMJ for a few years now, and i really wasn't to interested in seeing any of the shows...until i heard a secret....

BILLY BRAGG!!!!


Yes, Billy Bragg played a secret show at Arlenes Grocery to maybe a hundred people, myself , Brendan and Jeremiah included...we spent his whole set comparing goose bumps...it was an incredibly intimate, chilling time.

After the show we ran jumping through the streets high on the workers revolution and love songs....We ran fast and hard....straight to the tattoo shop and Jeremiah and i got these.

Fools Gold Tour.

I just wrapped up two months on the road with Devendra Banhart...and while i do love my hippies what better way to switch it up than going out for a week on the fools gold tour with A-Trak, Kid Sister, DJ Mehdi, Kavinsky, and Nick Catchdubs.

Sorry i haven't written you in so long....this summer has been totally crazy, i have been all over the world having a blast. I think that the best place for me to start is with this last tour of Europe i did with Devendra Banhart.



The trip started in Oslo, Norway at the Oya Festival....highlights included Jesus and the Mary Chain totally blowing my mind.



I caught their set at Coachella earlier this year and really wasn't to impressed but they have had time to practice and are now a fine tuned dream machine...



Oh and a certain actress wasn't there to butcher "Just Like Honey"....Aram was stoked!!!



It was a good nite...

Meet Me at the Cemetery Gates.

Flew in to London yesterday to meet up with Lexi for a couple of days before we move on to Spain for Ericas wedding.





I haven't been in London for so long...almost 2 years!!!





It is nice to be back and wander around these fimiliar streets.





Fear not though good friends, i will be back quite a bit in August with Devendra for all of the festivals and whatnot...and i promise i will call you all then!

I just got a new camera and i am still trying to figure it all out...so some of these shots look pretty killer while some, not so much... I took the new camera on a feild trip to "the south bay" Hermosa Beach to be exact, and it turned out to be a mini edition of my new series....

LIke this place for example...LA Playita, right off the pier with killer chips and guacamole, and prolly the best potato tacos ever!





The beach is real nice man....i haven't spent much time there yet this summer....but i have a very strong feeling that is going to change.

Next we walked inland a bit for a little punk rock history lesson.....





This is the church where Blag Flag was born...All of Black Flag but Ginn lived here for a time, posing as hippies so they could crash in the basement...



They used to live here, practice here, have shows here....everything man, this church is pretty much the birthplace of fucking hardcore!!!!!
